a chaotic little update

Tell me why I literally wrote out an incredible blog post that adequately detailed my chaotic weekend, and as I was trying to upload the photo for the blog post, it deleted!

Literally what is today?

So I was not in the mood to cook this morning and I needed to eat something to start the day because it was going to be extremely busy. I then walked to Paris Baguette (NY pastry store) to get two croissants and one donut.  After which I went to the nearest convenient store to get water, and I somehow spotted eggnog! It’s eggnog season - so I had to indulge! I got back home and was perplexed at the series of events that unfolded. I opened my bag of pastries and found out I was missing one croissant and remembered when they asked if I wanted a receipt or not at the checkout counter, I said no. In other words I paid for two croissants, one, tangible, and one, invincible. I tasted the eggnog, and, when I tell you this thing tasted so bad… It just wasn’t what I was expecting at all. But it’s okay. I went back to study for this philosophy exam as I had been for the last couple of days. Believe me it’s not been funny, but I’ve been trying. Wish me luck!

Evening time came and I went for a walk. By the way, if there’s one thing living in New York has taught me, it’s that there are very few things that are worse than slow walkers in a big crowd. Interestingly, I wasn’t rushing, or on my way to some big meeting, I just wanted to get to where I was going as quickly as possible! Does that mean I’m a real New Yorker now? It’s so fascinating because I hear in countries like Brazil or France, this rush isn’t there as much (at least places like grocery stores), I wonder where New York is always in a rush to? After some walking, I ended up at Levi’s picking out another pair of 501s. I literally spent maybe a good 45 mins in that store trying on different styles and getting the right size. With Levi’s, in my experience, it’s best to go to the store to get what works for you - perhaps this is the case when shopping anywhere - it even makes getting new jeans more fun. Luckily I brought my philosophy notebook so as the store associates were fetching my sizes, I was reading my notes on Plato’s Republic

Anyways, came back and did a little more studying but to be honest, I’m over it if you couldn’t tell by the impromptu Levi’s trip. This is the point of the semester where everything gets cripplingly hectic but… we move! On the bright side I had some delicious tea to wrap up this day and I’m currently de-stressing right now by writing this in my upteenth study break. There isn’t any (intentional) lesson in this post, just vibes.

Have a great week!

Until the next one
