winter is coming, but first…

Fall.

Winter is coming but first, we have to watch the leaves fall gracefully from their trees, while the weather remains rather indecisive on whether to show us the full wrath of the sun or the initial coolness associated with the inevitable arrival of winter.

Seriously though, one day, it’s cold, the next day, it’s not. But until Fall makes a decision, we have to pocket our concerns on when the cold will push its way in and the sun can *finally* deceitfully seem dormant by not concentrating its heat on us.

See how nature goes from deep green, to paler shades of green to orange, yellow hues; telling us that it’s that time of the year again. Like an animal shedding its skin, to later reveal itself, the seasons will go and come again. Winter is coming, but first… fall.

I went to the New York Botanical Garden to take pictures of Lord knows how many plants for an Ecology class - I mean where else would you see trees that look straight out of a fantasy film? It was like a self-guided school trip-type activity, really cool. I was able to take some of these photos that explain Fall because what explains nature better than nature itself. Anyways, now it’s cold (finally); initially the cold was shying away but now you can feel winter is slowly but surely making it’s way through.

When I first saw the ecology assignment, I knew I wouldn’t just go to a random nearby park; I instantly decided to go somewhere I haven’t gone before: The New York Botanical Garden. Why not a Botanical garden? It’s like a museum of all sorts of plants, and nature as you’ve never seen it ~ In other words, perfect for any ecology assignment. The quick trip was a much appreciated breath of fresh air, a little bit away from Manhattan.

Notice how this post and my last post on Broadway are ideas on what to do in New York. This is not a tourism blog, I promise, but it’s super fun telling you all about it! when you come to New York, you have some cool places to go ;)

Now, I’m about to take you on a virtual tour, to have your own nature moment, a little breath of fresh air via a virtual garden using pictures I took that day. Enjoy!
